Policy Information
How will my tattoo be charged?
Paintbrush Tattoo charges hourly from the start of your tattoo appointment. Design changes and stenciling are included and charged at the hourly rate. However, consults, drawing time, and prep work before the appointment are not billable.
The artists are fair about the clock! The artist will often comp time based off time wasted by the artist.
Both our artists charge $175 per hour and there is a $175 shop minimum. The off- season rate is $150 per hour with a $150 shop minimum. Off season rates are from November-April. Please reach out if you would like a time estimate for your tattoo. Prices are not negotiable, but please let us know your budget. We can discuss how to simplify or resize your design in order to fit your needs.
How does the shop minimum work?
Our shop minimum is $175 which equals one hour. Our shop minimum is per person. Depending on how long design changes take, micro-tattoos may not take the full hour. In those cases, consider adding in an additional small tattoo design in case we have time for both.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please note that all deposits are non-refundable. Review our cancellation policy below.
All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. If you do not show up, are more than 20 minutes late, or do not reschedule 72 hours before your appointment, you forfeit your deposit. If you need to reschedule, please text or email 72 hours prior to your appointment, and we can move your deposit to a new time and date.
Consultations are free. Your card information is required to book, and will be charged a $35 cancellation fee if not canceled 72 hours in advance.
Can I change my design idea prior to my appointment?
We want you to love your tattoo! We can accommodate design idea changes with at least 5 days notice. Depending on whether the artist has started your drawing, shorter notice may be okay, but is not guaranteed.
If the artist has already started working on your original design, the time it takes to draw your new tattoo will be charged at their hourly rate. The artist has the right to sell the discarded design drawings to someone else.
Will the artist tattoo someone else’s work?
Paintbrush Tattoo will not steal work from other artists. Our artists will look at your reference photos to see what style you are looking for, but they will not plagiarize it. Paintbrush Tattoo draws their own original tattoos and complies with all copyright laws. The only exception is with written consent from the artist being copied.
We love to see your reference photos! We will use your reference photo to determine the style or idea for your tattoo, then we will draw an original tattoo.
Generic tattoos, such as stars, hearts, or symbols, that have been done by thousands of artists are exempt from copyright laws.
We do a lot of font and script tattoos. Our studio has purchased the licenses for all adobe fonts, and we usually start our search there. You are welcome to look online for other fonts. There are thousands of downloadable free or paid for fonts! If you find a font you like that isn't an Adobe font, please send us the link. The shop will buy the font and save the license. We will later add the cost of the font to the final price of your tattoo.
Will the artist tattoo the same design twice?
Unless the client wants matching tattoos, custom drawings will not be repeated after being tattooed. This means if you book a custom piece, the drawing will not be used
elsewhere.
Because of the volume of Teton tattoo requests we receive, expect the drawings to look similar to past tattoos. Although the artist will redraw, there are only so many ways to reinvent the wheel!
We sometimes use Traditional vintage Flash on a case-by-case basis. However, the use of this flash will be fully communicated with the client.
The artist might have some dedicated flash designs that are repeatable, those designs will be marked as repeatable flash.
Can I bring my friends to my tattoo appointment?
Our studio is small, we have enough space for you to bring one or two people. Because it is unsanitary, no pets.
Should I show up to my tattoo appointment early?
We book our clients back to back, and our studio doesn't have a large waiting area.
Because of this, please do not show up early to your tattoo appointment. We will have time for waivers while your stencil is drying.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Please remember to bring your ID to your appointment. We are not able to tattoo you without attaching a copy of your ID to our waiver. You must be over 18.
